David Moyes' first game at Manchester United ends in defeat

David Moyes suffered defeat in his first match in charge of Manchester United as they were beaten 1-0 by the Singha All Stars in Thailand.
Teeratep Winothai scored the only goal on 50 minutes at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, beating Ben Amos at his near post.
"It wasn't a brilliant result but this wasn't one we desperately needed to win," said Moyes.
"It is one we needed to get prepared to win games."

Wilfried Zaha, who signed from Crystal Palace last season, and 18-year-old Adnan Januzaj were both given debuts by Moyes and came the closest to finding the target.
Following Wayne Rooney's return to England for treatment and the absence of Javier Hernandez, Robin van Persie and Nani, it was an opportunity for the youngsters to impress.
"Wilfried did well," said Moyes. "He gave us something different.
"We have brought him here to give him a chance. It is the first time I have worked with him and had a chance to see him up close.
"He will certainly be part of the squad and we will see where we can fit him in as often as we can."
Januzaj, signed from Anderlecht in July 2011, was given a squad number for Sir Alex Ferguson's final game in charge of United in May.
"It is always good when you give a young player a chance and he shows up. He did that tonight," added Moyes.
"The more he plays like that the more opportunities he is likely to get."
United now travel to Sydney, where Van Persie and David de Gea will join the squad. They are scheduled to play matches in five different countries before beginning their Premier League title defence on 17 August.

Man Utd: Ryan Giggs & Phil Neville join coaching staff..

Manchester United have named Ryan Giggs as player-coach and Phil Neville as their new first-team coach.
Giggs, who will be 40 in November, and ex-United player Neville, 36, are the latest additions to new manager David Moyes's backroom team at Old Trafford.
"I'm delighted that Ryan has accepted the chance to become player-coach," said Moyes.

Giggs added: "It's no secret I've been taking my qualification. I see this as the first step in my future career."
Neville, 36, takes up the role vacated by Rene Meulensteen, who has now joined manager Guus Hiddink at Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
Giggs continued: "It's a great privilege to be appointed as player-coach. I hope I will be able to bring my experience to bear, having been both a player and part of the Manchester United family for so long.
"I'm really looking forward to working alongside David and the team."

Brazil wins confendrations cup.

Brazil produced a breathtaking performance at the Maracana to overwhelm Spain and claim their third consecutive Fifa Confederations Cup.

Driven on by the passion of a fiercely partisan crowd, the five-time world champions signalled their intent ahead of next summer's World Cup by ending Spain's 29-match competitive unbeaten record with a majestic display.
Fred scored twice, but Neymar again stole the show, scoring Brazil's second goal with a rasping left-foot shot.
To compound Spain's misery, Sergio Ramos missed a second-half penalty before Gerard Pique was sent off for bringing down Neymar as last man, with 22 minutes remaining.

At the final whistle, the Brazil fans proudly chanted 'the champions are back'. With David Luiz and Thiago Silva providing solidity at the back, the midfield generalship of Paulinho and the mercurial talents of Neymar in attack, the Selecao will certainly be a formidable proposition next year.
